HomeNewsEconomy NewsAre Guns and Ammo the New Gold? Survival Spot Economy News, Infographics, News, Resources Via: Ammo.net 4 Responses Michael J Perrine I have "collected" ammo for years, as well, I have purchased firearms of the same caliber or gauge in groupings-all my shotguns are 12 ga-so 1000 rds of 00buck will feed them all, I have multiple pistols and revolvers of the same calibers, and particularly have collected higher amounts of the most popular calibers. 9mm, .40, .45ACP, .44 magnum, .357 magnum, .38 special, .22LR, 7.62 X 39mm and 5.56mm and .223 are in that group. As for gold, I have read from a reliable source that gold has not been the true currency of a realm since the Roman Empire. Interestingly, he noted that in poor economic times/collapses, that traded skills and services have been the "new" coin of the realm, in regional areas. HA HA plus, a few bottles of booze for barter wouldn't hurt either! Reply BigDog A wise man once said "If you are bartering your gold for my ammo I will end up with both the gold and the ammo". Reply RECO Exactly! The old saying He who has the Gold Makes the Rules….um Not if the other guys have More Lead lol! Reply SOL Outfitters When SHTF & Zombies roam, anything of immeidate use that is in short supply will be "gold". Whether it's tangible (ammo) or intangible (skill or knowledge).
