Bear Grylls Knife

Bear Grylls knife and caseBear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Knife

If you asked what we would want to take with us in a stranded situation, we’d probably say a filled iPod, food, or perhaps a back catalog of Playboy (for the articles, of course). A more practical choice, however, would be the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Knife ($60). Designed by Gerber and the Grylled one himself, this unique wilderness tool features a half-serrated high carbon blade, a stainless steel pommel at the base of the handle, an emergency whistle in the lanyard cord, and a host of goodies in the included sheath, like a fire starter, diamond sharpener, and Bear’s Priorities of Survival pocket guide for those times when you need some Yoda-like wisdom.

[Thanks, Andrew]

Like the boyscout saying goes "be prepared". I love survival knives. I haven't seen the Gerber Machete but it sounds awesome. But this Bear Grylls knife looks really cool.

This knife is not worth it. I have the model that this is based off of, the Gerber LMF II. it has everything this knife does, except the firesteel, but it has a MUCH better sheath that can attach to MOLLE, ALICE or even just cord. The two are about the same when it comes down to it, but the terrible sheath that the Bear Grylls version comes with, ruined it for me.

  3. The steel pommel issue that were prone to break off the handle after heavy hammering has been fixed on the new version. I got mine last month and have tested it out without any issues.
