WOW! I took time to read the full article in the link provided, and I just am baffled by what was written! I just don't know where people come up with these things! I am hoping it was some kind of twisted joke but I fear many people seem to believe these things to be true. After discussing this bill the other day I took time to read and research SB510. Only one thing in the 260 some pages really stood out and the author of this article seemed to forget to add that to his article. The only people effected by SB510 will be those who grow their own produce and give it away or sell it and make over $500,000.00 per year in doing so. How many folks do you know know that make $500,000.00 from their garden each year? Further checking, I discovered that locally, (Ohio) in a 3 county area we have 5 Farmer's Markets. I spoke with enough people in each area to discover that all 5 Farmer's Markets make no where near $500,000.00 combined per season! A little common sense and research can go a long way to find the truth.
While the income limit does make this seem a little less threatening the fact of the matter is that most mid to large scale farmers can hit that limit very easily depending on their capacity. And beyond that, all it takes is them getting their foot in the door with this bill giving people the perception that it won't apply to them because of the dollar limit and before you know it, the limit is lowered and lowered until finally it does apply to everyone. The last thing we need right now is more oversight and regulation by an agency that has proved itself to be incapable of doing the jobs it has already been assigned.
Do you have any idea what the corporat farms and monsesanto are doing with their GMO food and textile crops??? If you think that the elites and wanna be inchrage people are way out there wait until they control the food. Someof us don't get to the farmers market and depend on organic foods from the supermarkets. How do you think that this will affect the price??? They are driving us out of existance.

The FDA just said that there is no foundation in law for individuals to have a fundamental right to eat the type of foods they want. DO you understand what they mean??? We don't need a law to give us permission but they insist we do or there is no foundation in law. This means that they think that all authority do do anything is the governments to hand out when and if they see fit.

You have an excellent point! Ecoli is growing "out of bounds", not just because of humans – but also because of cows: eating GMO corn. Their 5 stomachs can't handle it, become inflamed and cause the ecoli. Did you see the movie Food Inc! Well, it really goes farther than that. We just have to educate people! They needs the facts! Contact groups, organizations where there are alot of people – at least the try is well worth it.
The S510 bil passed the Senate November 30, now it needs to go to the House and Pres.

That is insane! My wife and I keep a backyard garden every year, and I will be damned if I let the government control whether or not I can eat fresh tomatoes on my B.L.T. They already tried to pass a bill pertaining to food storage, and the FBI is spying on preppers. Freedom my hairy, white ass.
