Some are currently faced with deciding which to choose: Rent or food? How soon will it be when this trend starts to spread more households around the country and the world? Do you want to live with the hard decision telling your kids that you have to pay the rent to have a roof over your head but not being able to have proper nutrition?

Isn’t time to stock up on foods?

How about getting out of debt?

How about downsizing your cars, house, gadgets, etc.

Will we act now or get a huge wake up call when it is too late?

Remember your graduation where during the commencement all were told to serve the public once they get out in the real world? Well, are we actually doing it or just watching things unfold?

Looking around our country today, are producing anything or is it all imported from China? All we really do is sit behind a desk 8 hours a day and shuffle a bunch of papers.

The real danger is what will we do when our dollar looses value and China doesn’t want to accept our paper currency anymore? Where will we get those cheap products from now?

What would we do if the economy collapses and we are forced to live off the land? Would we know how to farm, setup a garden?

The saying is still true, by Gandhi, to be the change you want to see in the world. So instead of sitting around, shuffling useless papers, complaining and criticizing, why not try and make a change for yourself, your family, community or perhaps the world.

100 years from now, how do you want to be remembered by your kids and grand kids?

First it was bailing out the banks and introducing more regulations for the financial sector. Now the next industry to get a bailout seems to be the mainstream media who has been loosing money as a result of social media and bloggers. On top of the proposed bailout, restrictions will be brought in for journalists and bloggers.

So where is this going to?

Banks that lost money based on their mistakes, force the government to bail them out and getting the public to pay for it. Now we have the same thing with the media. It seems that the mainstream media is not only loosing money but more importantly control. More and more people  are going to various blogs and alternative media websites to not just get news but get educated.

So obviously, this is a threat to the mainstream media, and the only way to get control back is to introduce regulations to bloggers, journalists and alternative media sites. This is not a matter of doing good but simply telling people what they can and cannot do. This is censorship at it’s finest, because if such regulations go through, the moment the regulators don’t like what you are saying on your website, they can shut you down.

The internet is our last tool for free speech, let’s not allow them to destroy it.
